 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation.  Jay Cutler begins jail sentence for DUI  Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler has reported to a Tennessee jail to begin serving a DUI sentence. Cutler was booked into Williamson County Jail on Monday morning and is expected to remain there until Friday. Last month, Cutler pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI and was sentenced to four days in jail. In addition to his time behind bars, he was ordered to pay a $350 fine, complete one year of supervised probation, attend a DUI safety class, and have his Tennessee driver’s license revoked for one year.  Congo military court sentences ex-president Kabila to death in absentia A military court in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday sentenced former president Joseph Kabila to death in absentia, convicting him of crimes including war crimes, Reuters reported. Lieutenant-General Joseph Mutombo Katalayi, who presided the military tribunal in the capital, told the court that Kabila was convicted of various crimes including treason, crimes against humanity, murder, sexual assault, torture and insurrection. Kabila spent almost two decades in power and only stepped down after deadly protests against him. Since late 2023, he has been residing mostly in South Africa, though he did appear in rebel-held Goma in eastern Congo in May.

 Former Minister Nathi Mthethwa Dies After Tragic Incident Former Minister of Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, has passed away following a tragic incident shortly after being mentioned in the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. Mthethwa, who served as Minister of Arts and Culture in 2014 and later as Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture from May 2019, was at the time of his death serving as South Africa’s Ambassador to France. According to the report, it is alleged that Mthethwa jumped from the 22nd floor of a building. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation. Authorities are expected to release more details as inquiries continue.

 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPOWERS 10,000 YOUTHS IN KANO; 350 BIKE FOR DISPATCH RIDERS The Federal Government  youth empowerment drive in Kano State peaked with the distribution of more than 350 motorcycles to dispatch riders, while ten thousand young people received food support. The initiative, under the fourth phase,  championed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda designed to support small businesses and todeliver on campaign promises.

The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, stated this while speaking at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Lagos recently.  Oyedele explained that upkeep money sent to dependants or relatives is not taxable describing such transfers as “non-exchange transactions’’but that any money generated from any service provided will be taxed.  “You earn a certain amount of money and you have to send upkeep to your cousin, your brother, even a stranger, it doesn’t really matter. According to the Kaduna Command, Sultan was taken into custody on September 27, 2025, at Layin Dan-Masani, Rigachikun, Igabi Local Government Area, following a petition that he allegedly used fake social media accounts to harass and extort a citizen. Investigations reportedly showed that Sultan created phishing accounts with the handles @OZugwai40986 on X (formerly Twitter) and @Zugwai75 on Instagram. He was accused of using them to issue threats and demand payments through cryptocurrency and POS transactions.  Lagos Teachers Set Guinness World Record  Oluwaseyi Anifowose officially holds the world's record for organizing the Largest Gathering of Teachers in the World in Lagos. Convener of the Let There Be Teachers Conference 2025, says the programme was born out of a deep conviction to create a global platform that to spotlight the real challenges facing the teaching profession.  According to the event coordinator 90% of the teachers were from Lagos because they lacked funds to bring in teachers from outside the state as originally intended. The historic initiative was not merely an attempt to break a record; it was a bold call to action — to celebrate teachers, amplify their voices, and compel stakeholders to commit to more meaningful reforms. Oluwaseyi Anifowose has years of experience in teacher's training and capacity development. An unspecified number of people, including prominent personalities from Niger state, have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Borgu local government area of the State. The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon at about 4pm around Felegi and Ibbi communities on Mokw and New bussa road. This   has left the people of the affected communities in the state of fear and despair. Confirming the incident to NTA News, the state police public relations officer Wasiu Abiodun said security agencies in the state are already carrying out investigations on the sad occurrence.

TINUBU ARRIVES IN IMO. (PHOTO).

 Tinubu arrives in Imo President Bola Tinubu has just arrived at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on a one-day official visit. The presidential aircraft landed at exactly 12:52 p.m. As part of his itinerary, the President will inaugurate the reconstructed 60-kilometer dual carriage Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Federal Road. He is also expected to inaugurate the Assumpta Flyover and the newly built 6,000-capacity Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, Owerri, all projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma. The President will then proceed to the book presentation and unveiling of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria,” a documentation of Nigeria’s democratic journey and achievements in governance under the All progressives Congress in the last 10 years.

 EFCC Arrests Six for Alleged Land Fraud in Uyo Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested six suspected members of a land fraud syndicate for allegedly defrauding their victim of the sum of ₦6,000,000.00 (Six Million Naira) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The suspects are; Enobong Clement Etim(aka Edet Nsem Udo), Iniakop Okot,  Emmanuel Edet,  Essien Edet Aniedi, Christopher Anthony and Edwin Etim. They were arrested at different locations in Akwa Ibom State, following claims of a petitioner, Aniekan Etukudo Koffi that alleged that the prime suspect, Enobong Clement Etim,  used a pseudo name, and along with his accomplices,  defrauded him of the said sum in a bogus land transaction involving a parcel of land located at Ifa Ikot Ubo, Ifa Ikot Okpon–Etoi in Uyo Local Government Area of the State.  The petitioner alleged that he was introduced to the prime suspect and his gang in July 2025 through a m...

 SCUML  Seals Two Companies in Sokoto The Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering, SCUML,  on Monday, September, 29 2025 sealed the premises of two Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions, DNFIBPs, Iman Multi Structures Ltd and Daraja Motors  for non -compliance with the provisions of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 and EFCC AML/CFT/CPF regulations 2024. Both DNFBPs were initially sanctioned and fined on June 18, 2025 and August 13, 2025 respectively  for non-compliance with regulations but failed to make payment to the government.    Investigations by Scuml Zonal Co'ordinator,   Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Ahmadu Bello showed that the ultimatum to pay the fine offered the two organisations expired over a month ago.  The premises will remain sealed until compliance with extant regulations is made.  More photos below.

The drop reportedly included subscriptions to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, marking a 436 percent increase over the usual churn rate for the services. Disney has not commented on the claim. The surge in cancellations coincided with a recent price increase for Disney’s streaming platforms, which could extend the wave of departures. Lally Weymouth, veteran reporter and member of the Graham family, dies at 82 Lally Weymouth, a globe-trotting journalist and member of the Graham family that owned The Washington Post for 80 years, died Monday at her Manhattan home. She was 82. Her daughter, Katharine Weymouth, said the cause was pancreatic cancer. Weymouth carved out her own career in journalism, securing high-profile interviews with leaders including Saddam Hussein, Yasir Arafat, and Muammar Qaddafi. Though she was part of the Graham publishing dynasty, she was never placed in a leadership role at The Post, a reflection of the era’s limited opportunities for women in the newsroom.
