NO ABANDONMENT, NO NEW AWARDS: FG SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON MOROCCO SCHOLARSHIPS The Federal Government has firmly debunked misleading narratives circulating in some quarters regarding Nigerian scholarship students in the Kingdom of Morocco, describing such claims as false, unfounded, and deliberately crafted to misinform the public. The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has clarified that no Nigerian student on a valid Federal Government scholarship has been abandoned. All beneficiaries duly enrolled under the Bilateral Education Scholarship (BES) Programme prior to 2024 have received payments up to the 2024 budget year, in line with the Federal Government’s obligations. Any temporary delays in outstanding payments are attributable to fiscal constraints and are currently being addressed through ongoing engagements between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. The Honourable Minister further stated that no new bilateral scholarshi...

" THE WORDS OF THE KING OF MAR A LAGO  "I think Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace. They are killing people by the thousands. It is a genocide and I am really angry about it. The Government has done nothing. They are very ineffective and they are killing Christians at will. We will come in guns ablazing and it will be short, vicious and sweet"- President Donald Trump, 21st November 2025.  Is it not strange that each time this racist and recalcitrant war-monger opens his mouth more attacks, killings and abductions take place in Nigeria?  Has it not occurred to anyone that he is actually fuelling the insurgency with his words and constant denigration of our people, our Armed Forces and our Government?  Is this not an attempt to create a clear justification for what they really wish to do to us: namely invade and bomb us to kingdom come and then divide our country.  This is the same way they demonised the Government of Sudan before unleashing the ...

Today, we strengthened our resolve to keep Enugu safe. I inaugurated newly procured hi-tech security equipment and patrol vehicles from the Enugu State Security Trust Fund, including two advanced drones, 10 Hilux patrol vans, 400 bulletproof vests, and 400 bulletproof helmets. These assets will reinforce our existing investments in security such as the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, the network of AI-enabled surveillance cameras across the state, and over 150 Distress Response Squad vehicles fitted with AI-embedded cameras. We can confidently say that violent crimes have been reduced by over 80 per cent in Enugu State. But we are not resting on our laurels because the criminals and bad elements we are dealing with are not resting. Security is one sector you may have scored 90 per cent, but just one breach can undermine all the successes you have accomplished. That is why we are not resting on our oars. We will continue to invest heavily in equipment and infrastructur...

The statement, which has been circulating widely on pageant forums and social media, adds more tension to an already heated global discussion. Rumors of Bosch’s possible dethronement have intensified following ongoing debates about the pageant’s integrity, online allegations of irregularities, and the backlash after the controversial Bangkok finale. But according to Nawat, the traditional rule where the first runner-up succeeds the titleholder may not apply this year. This suggests that MUO could be preparing an entirely different process if the seat is ever vacated. As of now, MUO has not released any official statement regarding a change in succession...

Cameroonian opposition figure Ekane dies in detention, lawyer says Cameroonian opposition leader Anicet Ekane, who supported a bid for president by a rival to the country's long-serving leader in October, died in detention on Monday, his lawyer and family said, a development that may worsen political tensions. Ekane, 74, leader of the African Movement for New Independence and Democracy (MANIDEM) party, was arrested on October 24 following post-election demonstrations, in what his party described as a "kidnapping" by Cameroonian soldiers. He was being held on charges of hostility against the state, incitement to revolt, and calls for insurrection, accusations he denied. His death in detention could heighten tensions in the central African nation where security forces killed 48 civilians as they responded to protests against the re-election of President Paul Biya, the world's oldest ruler at 92, who has led his country since 1982. Ekane was barely able to speak during ...

AFRICAN LEADERS DEMAND REPARATIONS FROM WESTERN COUNTRIES OVER COLONIAL CRIMES. (PHOTO).

Image
African leaders demand reparations from Western countries over colonial crimes African leaders pushed to have colonial-era crimes recognised, criminalised and addressed through reparations. At a conference in Algiers, diplomats and leaders convened to advance an African Union resolution passed at a meeting earlier this year calling for justice and reparations for victims of colonialism. In his opening speech, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf said Algeria’s experience under French rule underscored the need to seek compensation and reclaim stolen property. A legal framework, he added, would ensure restitution is seen as “neither a gift nor a favour.” “Africa is entitled to demand the official and explicit recognition of the crimes committed against its peoples during the colonial period, an indispensable first step toward addressing the consequences of that era, for which African countries and peoples continue to pay a heavy price in terms of exclusion, marginalisation and back...
