The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. 38-year-old woman arrested for stealing 1-week-old baby in Wa A 38-year-old woman, Abena Martha Maanibeh, has been arrested by the Upper West Regional Police for allegedly stealing a one-week-old baby and valuables belonging to the child’s mother at the Wa Market (Kejetia). According to Crime Check TV, the suspect tricked the baby’s mother, Ms. Kwofie Mwinbelle, into buying diapers and used the opportunity to escape with the baby, a handbag, phone, cash, and other belongings. Police tracked her down to her hideout at Nuobollie in the Savannah Region, where she was arrested. Thankfully, the baby has been safely rescued and reunited with the mother, while some of the stolen items were also recovered. Police say investigations are still ongoing.

The shooting occurred before 10 a.m. Friday in the basement of Henry Ford Hospital, where his ex-wife, Latricia Green, worked. Police said Green allegedly fired multiple shots during a verbal altercation with Latricia Green and then fled the hospital in a 2011 white Dodge Charger.  ANAMBRA POLICE RECEIVE SUSPECTED ILLEGAL CHINESE MINER FROM LOCAL SECURITY OPERATIVES The Anambra State Police Command, through its operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, on the evening of 22nd August 2025, received a suspected illegal Chinese miner from operatives of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade). The suspect, identified as Mu Hua Qiang, 45 years old, a resident of Aguleri, was arrested for his alleged involvement in illegal mining operations within the Aguleri axis. His statement has been voluntarily obtained, and he has been placed in lawful custody for further investigation. Futher developments will be communicated in due course.  POLICE ARREST SECURITY GUARD FOR MASTERMINDING BURGLARY, RECOVER STOLEN ITEMS Detectives of Iju Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a security guard for conspiracy, house breaking, and stealing, with exhibits recovered. On 15th August 2025, a resident of the Ifako area reported that upon returning home, he discovered his house had been broken into by unknown persons. Stolen items included one Sumec generator, one Fireman generator, one National air conditioner and three air conditioner compressor engines, all valued at ₦1,785,000 (One Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Naira). Following investigation, detectives arrested one Yisa Hassan aged 38, a security guard in the same neighborhood. Further investigations revealed that the suspect conspired with others still at large to commit the crime. Stolen items have been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices.  PAUL BIYA CONTESTS FOR 8TH TERM AT AGE 92 The president of Cameroon, Paul Biya, may win another 7-year term in office if he wins his country's general elections on October 12. Biya is contesting for president again after spending nearly 43 years in power and at the current age of 92.  If he wins in October, he'll complete his 8th term at 99 and may be tempted to run again. He is already the oldest president in the world. This follows the loss of Akere Muna from the Universe Party to disqualify Biya from contesting again at the constitutional court. Muna is one of 12 candidates contesting the vote.

 Abia State Government Refutes Cancellation of Teacher Recruitment, Addresses School Census Non-Compliance The Abia State government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has dismissed reports claiming that the recruitment of new teachers in the state has been cancelled. In a statement issued on Friday by Permanent Secretary Uchechukwu Kalu, on behalf of Commissioner Goodluck Ubochi, the ministry urged residents to disregard the false information circulating about the employment process. The state government also expressed concern over the refusal of some private school proprietors to participate in the ongoing 2025 annual school census exercise. To address this, the government has established three zonal census centres to ensure all schools are captured in the census, scheduled to run from August 25 to September 11, 2025.
