 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor.  THREE BLOEMFONTEIN CONSTABLES GO MISSING EN ROUTE TO LIMPOPO  The National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola says they are investigating a possible case of Kidnapping and hijacking following the disappearance of three Constables.  The trio, two females and a male, 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda(male), 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys (female) and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge (female) were travelling in a white VW polo sedan from Bloemfontein to their area of deployment in Limpopo when they went missing.  Their last known location was at the Engen garage near the Grasmere toll plaza on the N1 on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.  Their vehicle tracking device and cellphones have been off since the day of their disappearance.  Their vehicle registration number  is JCL 401 FS.  A 24 hour Venue Operational Centre (VOC) has been established and a full scale search is underway with a high level team of detectives and crime ...

 SCHOLAR TRANSPORT DRIVER ARRESTED FOR THE ALLEGED RAPE OF A 5 - YEAR OLD GIRL  MAFEFE : 35-year-old scholar transport operator has been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 5-year-old girl in Mafefe village outside Lebowakgomo. The incident allegedly occurred between January and March 2025. It is alleged that the suspect raped the child after picking her up from school. Limpopo Police say the suspect reportedly dropped off other children as usual, and instead of taking the victim straight home, he allegedly raped her inside his vehicle. Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the suspect was arrested on Thursday and will appear before the Thabamoopo Magistrate's Court soon, facing a charge of rape.

 ELEVEN SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING OPERATION VALA UMGODI IN LIMPOPO Eleven (11) suspects aged between 20 and 54 were arrested during the ongoing Operation Vala Umgodi in Limpopo on Friday, 25 April 2025. The arrests took place across the Sekhukhune, Mopani, and Vhembe districts. In Sekhukhune, four (4) suspects were caught in the Hlogotlou policing area for illegal sand mining. Members of Operation Vala Umgodi spotted the suspects loading sand into trucks at Luckau Village. Upon investigation, it was found that they had no permits to mine in the area. They were immediately arrested, and police confiscated two white Mercedes Benz trucks, a white Toyota Dyna truck, four pickaxes, eleven shovels, and five spades. Meanwhile, in Mopani and Vhembe districts, seven (7) suspects aged between 20 and 47 were arrested for being illegal immigrants. These arrests were made in the Letsitele and Musina policing areas.  Missing JAMB Candidate Esther Oladele Found Safe in Ijebu Ode  Esther Oladele, the JAMB candidate who went missing on April 24, 2025, while en route from Ajah to Epe for her UTME exam, has been found safe in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.  Her brother confirmed her return on social media, expressing gratitude for the public’s support.   Esther had sent a distressing message to her sister, stating, “I’m scared. I think I entered the wrong car. My eyes are itchy. It feels like I want to sleep,” before losing contact.  Her safe return has brought immense relief to her family and the broader community. Authorities are continuing investigations to understand the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

 ANAMBRA POLICE TAKES OVER THE SCENE OF AN ATTACK ON THE  OFFICE OF THE VIGILANTES AT AMESI-AGUATA _As Joint Security Force intensifies offensive operation in the area_ Anambra Police has taken over the scene of an attack on the office of the Vigilantes at Amesi, Aguata Local Government Area at the late hours of yesterday 25th April, 2025. This follows the attack by armed hoodlums on their facility where, unfortunately four patrol vehicles and two motorcycles were burnt as a result of the gun duel by security operatives resisting the armed hoodlums from gaining entrance.   Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the pastor of Christ Embassy, has blamed the Covid-19 vaccine for the death of Pope Francis.  Oyakhilome said that when the coronavirus vaccines came out, Pope Francis was one of those who encouraged people to take the vaccine and he also took it to serve as an example.     The pastor, who has made no secret his distrust for the Covid-19 vaccine, added that he was against the pontiff's stance on taking the vaccine.    He stated that since the Pope took the vaccine, he has been sick and in and out of hospital.  "He was killed by the vaccine," Oyakhilome said boldly.   Truck falls off Pen Cinema Bridge, crushes two buses in Lagos. A fully-loaded truck (GGE 624 YJ) lost control while navigating the Pen Cinema Bridge and fell onto two commercial Volkswagen buses parked underneath. Thankfully, the buses were empty. According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the truck driver sustained severe fractures to both hands. He was rescued by LASTMA officials and handed over to Elere Police officers before being taken to General Hospital, Ile-Epo, for urgent treatment. Watch video below.

  Speed Darlington threatens to leave club over Burna Boy’s song Controversial singer and internet personality, Speed Darlington, caused a scene at a club recently when he threatened to leave because the DJ played a Burna Boy song. In a viral clip, Speed Darlington could be heard warning the DJ in Pidgin, “I go go,” making it clear he would exit if the song continued.  The DJ, not wanting to lose the energy in the room, quickly switched up the music. This dramatic reaction didn’t come out of nowhere. It ties back to Speed Darlington’s ongoing grudge with Burna Boy.  Somalis March to Police Station in Tshwane to Demand Respect A group of Somali nationals marched to a police station in Tshwane on Friday, 25 April 2025, to demand better treatment and respect from the South African Police Service (SAPS). The peaceful march was organised following complaints of alleged harassment and unfair treatment by some police officers. The group, carrying placards, called for dignity, fairness, and protection of their rights. Leaders of the Somali community handed over a memorandum of demands to police officials, asking for improved relations and accountability.  UK deports 43 failed asylum seekers, others to Nigeria, Ghana The UK government has deported 43 individuals, including failed asylum seekers and convicted foreign offenders, to Nigeria and Ghana. Among those removed were 15 failed asylum seekers and 11 foreign national offenders who had completed their prison sentences. Seven individuals also chose to leave the country voluntarily. This flight is the second to Nigeria and Ghana since the last election, bringing the total number of deportees to 87. Officials say this reflects the growing partnership between the UK and both West African nations.  Catholic Priest Kidnapped In Kauru, Kaduna, Regains Freedom A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, who was abducted Thursday afternoon at Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has regained his freedom.  According to Daily Trust, Fr. Amos, who served at St. Gerald Quasi Parish, was said to have returned home unharmed on Friday at about 2:00pm. The announcement of his release was contained in a statement signed by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Shanet, who expressed gratitude to God and thanked members of the public for their prayers and support throughout the difficult period. Fr. Shanet also commended the efforts of the local vigilante group, the police, and the Department of State Services (DSS) for their role during the period of uncertainty.
