Image
Marilyn Monroe's coroner questioned whether her death was suicide More than six decades after Marilyn Monroe’s death, the junior coroner who performed her autopsy still harbors doubts about whether she truly died by suicide. Monroe passed away on August 4, 1962, at the age of 36, and while the official conclusion pointed to an overdose of sleeping pills, questions about the exact circumstances have persisted. Coroner Thomas Noguchi, now 98, told author Anne Soon Choi in her book L.A. Coroner that he experienced unease when the head toxicologist declined to conduct further tests during the investigation. Forensic analyst Joseph Scott Morgan noted that although Monroe’s toxicology report showed lethal drug levels, no pills were found in her stomach, creating a puzzling contradiction. Some have speculated that Monroe might have received a lethal dose through a suppository, as no injection marks were found on her body. Morgan suggested that Monroe’s death might remain an enduring myst...
