ROBOCOP STATUE FINALLY UNVEILED IN DETROIT AFTER NEARLY 15 YEARS. (PHOTO).

RoboCop statue finally unveiled in Detroit after nearly 15 years A 11-foot-tall bronze statue of the iconic science fiction hero RoboCop has finally been installed in Detroit, nearly 15 years after the idea first emerged. The 2.5-ton sculpture, depicting RoboCop as played by Peter Weller in the 1987 film, now stands outside the Free Age Production Studio in Detroit’s Eastern Market. Jim Toscano, the studio’s owner, expressed excitement over the installation, calling it “super impressive” and noting that it has already drawn visitors to the area. The project began in 2011 after a public exchange with then-Mayor Dave Bing sparked a fan-led campaign to bring the statue to life. Community arts advocate Brandon Walley and entrepreneur Jerry Paffendorf launched a Kickstarter that raised over $67,000 to fund the effort. The officer is under investigation for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The search operation, which began early in the morning, has already led to the recovery of ₹1.5 crore in unaccounted cash from Bora’s flat.  Court Couldn't Rule Kanu’s Motion Seeking Transfer To National Hospital  The Federal High court sitting in Abuja has declined adjudication on a motion filed by Biafra nation agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, seeking an order transferring him from the custody of department of the state service, DSS to the national hospital in Abuja for urgent medical attention. During the court proceedings, counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Uchenna Njoku, SAN, informed the court of a counter-affidavit served on him by the prosecution opposing the transfer request, as such he needs time to study the document to enable him respond.  Aproko Doctor exposes shocking pregnancy scam targeting women Popular Nigerian health influencer, Aproko Doctor, has raised alarm about a shocking scam targeting unsuspecting women. According to him, anyone who tells you that another person cannot see a baby in your womb through an ultrasound scan is trying to scam you. He explained that real pregnancies must show up on scans, but fraudsters are deceiving women by pumping them with drugs to mimic pregnancy symptoms. Victims are then told to avoid scans until the scammers later hand them a baby that was never theirs in the first place. He described it as a criminal racket that is ruining lives.

 Concerned Citizen Raises Alarm As Patients Lie On Chairs At Overcrowded Barau Dikko Hospital, Calls For Government Intervention    A public petition has raised alarm over the worsening conditions at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, Kaduna, where patients are reportedly forced to lie on chairs due to lack of beds at the Emergency Unit. The petition, signed by a concerned citizen, Mr. Nasiru Jagaba, described the situation during a visit to the hospital on Friday, September 12, 2025, as “heartbreaking,” citing congestion, inadequate staff, and limited facilities. According to him, patients were left in pain while relatives appeared confused, as the few available nurses and doctors struggled to cope with the overwhelming number of cases.  Twenty learners were seriously injured in a minibus taxi crash at KwaKhehla Bridge on the P127 in KwaZulu-Natal.  According to the provincial Department of Transport, the injured learners are from Matomela High School, Luthando High School, and Sthunjwana Primary School.  The taxi driver is reported to have fled the scene, while the learners were rushed to nearby healthcare facilities for treatment.

 Man Killed by an Elephant in Hoedspruit A senior elephant carer, Israel Shambira, tragically lost his life after being gored by an elephant at a sanctuary in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, on Saturday. According to the Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD), the incident happened shortly after 3pm while the elephants were out in the bush on the reserve. One of the elephants, named Limpopo, pushed down a tree under which Shambira was seated. Moments later, the elephant turned on him and fatally gored him. Colleagues rushed to assist, but sadly, nothing could be done to save his life. HERD confirmed that Shambira was one of the original carers who came with the elephants from Zimbabwe in March 2002, and he had dedicated decades of his life to their care.

 Body of Missing SAPS Officer Found in Hammanskraal The search for Sergeant Sello Ben “Marker” Moloko, a Brooklyn SAPS Detective who went missing on 10 September near the Pretoria High Court, has ended in tragedy. His burnt body was discovered in Mogogelo, Hammanskraal, with his hands still cuffed, a chilling sign of a deliberate and brutal killing. Last week, police had found his state vehicle and cellphone, sparking fears about his safety. Those fears have now been confirmed, leaving his colleagues and community devastated. Residents of Hammanskraal and Pretoria have expressed shock and outrage, calling for swift justice for the slain detective. SAPS has launched a full-scale investigation, with specialized units assigned to track down the perpetrators. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the case by contacting the police on 08600 10111.

 Two Dead, One Injured in Shooting at Burgersfort Police Station Limpopo police are investigating a tragic shooting that left two people dead and one injured at the Burgersfort Police Station in Sekhukhune District early on Sunday morning, 14 September 2025. The incident occurred around 02:35 when on-duty officers reportedly heard gunshots within the station’s yard. Responding to the scene, they discovered a 28-year-old woman with gunshot wounds lying next to two vehicles. Her husband, a 31-year-old man, was found dead from gunshot injuries nearby. A third victim, a 39-year-old woman, was also found with gunshot wounds. Paramedics confirmed the deaths of the 31-year-old man and the 39-year-old woman at the scene, while the 28-year-old woman was rushed to hospital and is receiving medical treatment.  Seshego Security Officer Stabbed to Death on Duty A 36 year-old security officer was fatally stabbed while on duty at a fast-food outlet in Sengatane Village, Seshego, on Saturday morning. Police say the officer was working when he got into an argument with a male customer. The suspect allegedly pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him before fleeing the scene. The officer was rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to the Provincial Hospital, but sadly died from his injuries around 14:30. The suspect, who remains at large, was reportedly driving a white Toyota Avanza without registration plates. The vehicle had a black sticker on the bonnet with the word “London” on it. Protester arrested for trampling Charlie Kirk's memorial A protester was arrested Sunday after trampling the memorial for Charlie Kirk outside the Turning Point USA office in Phoenix. Video of the incident showed a man stepping on flowers and other tributes laid out for the recently killed conservative commentator. Bystanders intervened, with one person in a blue shirt throwing the protester to the ground before security and a police officer arrived. The man was then handcuffed by officers. The Phoenix Police Department identified the protester as 19-year-old Ryder Corral, who faces multiple charges, including criminal damage and disorderly conduct. NASA said the shipment includes materials for growing semiconductor crystals in microgravity, equipment to improve cryogenic fuel tanks, a specialized UV light system to prevent microbial growth in water systems, and supplies to produce pharmaceutical crystals aimed at cancer and other disease treatments. Routine provisions for the ISS crew, including food, were also on board. The Cygnus is expected to dock with the ISS on Wednesday and remain attached until March 2026.
