 Limpopo Police Bust Smuggling Network, Recover Over R3 Million in Stolen Goods Limpopo police have made a major breakthrough in the fight against organized crime after dismantling a cross-border smuggling network operating between South Africa and Malawi. In the early hours of Thursday, 5 June 2025, the Limpopo Anti-Smuggling Task Team, working with Tshimollo Security and Shadow Secure Technology, stopped a Scania truck with superlink trailers near the Polokwane weighbridge. The truck was travelling from Cape Town to Malawi through the Beitbridge border post. During a lengthy 18-hour operation, officers found chopped parts of a Ford Ranger stolen in Nyanga, along with 60 disassembled motorcycles hidden in drums and containers. These motorcycles were reported stolen from several police stations in the Western Cape, including Bellville, Mfuleni, Muizenberg, Nyanga, Milnerton, Sea Point, and Athlone.
