The moment, captured in a now-viral video, occurred as the governor mounted the podium on Sunday to pay tribute to the monarch and to congratulate the Remi on her newly bestowed chieftaincy title, Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua. Rather than proceed immediately with his formal message, Adeleke, popularly known as the “Dancing Governor” for his spirited public appearances, burst into a short musical chant, drawing laughter from parts of the audience. Remi, who had moments earlier received her traditional title from the Ooni, walked towards the podium, gestured lightly to the governor, and whispered to him to proceed with his statement. “Go ahead,” she was heard saying, in an attempt to steer the ev...

That was the highest. So, when a president is using 504, you cannot come as a commoner, as a businessman, or whoever you are, to be using Rolls-Royce,” he said. Dangote criticised the proliferation of private jets at Nigerian airports, arguing that such wealth would be bett...

‎Attacks in the North Were Blamed on Bandits; But Attack in Anambra Was Pointed to Unknown Gunmen- Shehu Sani  ‎ ‎Senator Shehu Sani has criticised what he describes as inconsistent media labeling of violent attacks across Nigeria, faulting the tendency to use selective descriptions depending on the region affected. In a post shared on his official X handle on Monday, December 8th, 2025, the former Kaduna lawmaker drew attention to how similar crimes are reported differently in the North and the South-East. ‎ ‎Sani noted that when violent incidents occur in northern states, attackers are immediately identified as “Bandits” or “Terrorists,” a naming pattern he considers straightforward and accurate. However, he argued that when similar acts happen in parts of the South-East, particularly Anambra State, the media commonly resorts to vague descriptions such as “armed assailants,” “hoodlums,” “gunmen,” or “unknown gunmen.” ‎ ‎His comments followed a recent deadly incident in Anamb...

Discovery, calling it a potential “problem” due to the combined company’s sizable market share. Including Warner Bros.’ debt, the deal’s value exceeds $82 billion. Under the agreement, Netflix would acquire Warner Bros.’ film studio, HBO, and the streaming service HBO Max, gaining access to decades of movies and television shows in Warner Bros.’ archives. Cable networks such as CNN and TNT are not part of the deal. Trump expressed uncertainty about whether the merger would gain approval, noting Netflix’s current dominance in streaming and the significant boost the company would gain by adding Warner Bros. content. He said he plans to consult economists and be personally involved in the approval process, a move that is unusual for a sitting president. Netflix has more than 300 mill...

Paramount launches hostile bid for Warner Bros., countering Netflix’s $72 billion offer  Paramount has launched a hostile bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, directly challenging Netflix just days after the streaming giant reached a $72 billion agreement to take over the company. In its announcement Monday, Paramount said it is bypassing Warner Bros. leadership and appealing directly to shareholders with a $30-per-share all-cash offer for the entire company, including the Global Networks division. The company urged investors to reject the Netflix deal, which remains subject to approval. Paramount argued that the Netflix proposal would drag shareholders into a lengthy and uncertain regulatory process across multiple countries, while also tying their financial future to what it described as a complicated mix of cash and stock. The company said it has spent the past 12 weeks submitting six separate proposals to Warner Bros. Discovery in an attempt to reach an agreement. Paramount C...

After the Trump administration claimed the app endangered officers, Apple removed it from its store. On Monday, the app’s creator, Joshua Aaron, filed a lawsuit against top Trump administration officials, alleging they pressured Apple to suppress his free speech and his right to distribute and promote ICEBlock. The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, claims that Attorney General Pam Bondi misused government authority when the Justice Department contacted Apple and demanded the app’s removal. Bondi had publicly stated in October that Apple had complied with her request. The case could shed light on how Apple responds to government pressure. While Apple has historically removed apps at the behest of authoritarian gov...
