A Tennessee teen girl erupts at school board meeting accusing the board of being cowards for inaction after a board member made very inappropriate remarks. When school board member Keith Ervin singled out Hannah Campbell on April 2nd, grabbing her in an embrace and calling her hot, it gained a lot of attention online, as well as with the media.  Hannah had just finished delivering remarks to the board when Ervin grabbed the student and stated, "God, you're hot. Do you know that? Damn. Where do you go to school?" The entire ordeal was captured on video and done in front of the entire school board and all in attendance. Now, over a month after the uncomfortable incident, Hannah Campbell has spoken up at the most recent school board meeting on Thursday, May 8th. Hannah began by stating that Ervin's actions were not only unwelcome but also s*xist and derogatory.  Hannah went on to voice her disappointment with the school board to take any true action against Ervin.  Anambra Govt Reaffirms Partnership with JAMB, Pledges Support for CBT Expansion

By Obiageli Nwankwo

The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has described the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as an integral part of the state’s education system, assuring the Board of the government’s continued support to enhance its operations.

She made the declaration when the Anambra State Coordinator of JAMB, Dr. Diana Obiano, led her management team on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner at the State Secretariat Complex, Awka.

Prof. Chuma-Udeh said the state does not take JAMB’s role for granted, particularly in the conduct of qualifying examinations and placement of successful candidates into tertiary institutions. She commended the Board for establishing a 450-capacity Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre and pledged the state’s readiness to support the establishment of additional centres to improve access and efficiency.

Earlier, Dr. Obiano said that JAMB regards Anambra as a major academic hub in the South-East due to the high number of applicants from the state and their strong performance in examinations, which she attributed to the state government’s emphasis on quality education under Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

She noted that JAMB had contributed to development in the state through the establishment of a fully equipped 450-capacity CBT centre at its Amawbia office and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Education to ensure seamless registration and examination processes.

Dr. Obiano added that JAMB last year undertook extensive sensitisation of secondary school students in both rural and urban areas on UMTE registration procedures at CBT centres, ahead of the April examinations.

She, however, appealed to the state government for support in the provision of official vehicles to access hard-to-reach areas, renovation of offices, and construction of holding halls at the Amawbia headquarters to accommodate the surge in candidates during registration and examinations.

Also present at the meeting was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu and the Director of Schools, Mrs Oyibo Alor.
