FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS MOURN WOMAN SHOT BY ICE AGENT AFTER MAKING MINNEAPOLIS HER HOME. (PHOTO).

Family and neighbors mourn woman shot by ICE agent after making Minneapolis her home  Before she was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, 37-year-old Renee Good had just dropped her youngest child off at an elementary school in Minneapolis, the city she and her family had recently begun to call home. As Trump administration officials continued Thursday to describe Good as a domestic terrorist who tried to ram federal agents with her Honda Pilot, those who knew her remembered someone very different: a gentle, kind, and openhearted mother, wife, and neighbor. Good, her wife and her 6-year-old son had recently moved from Kansas City, Missouri, to a quiet Minneapolis neighborhood lined with older homes and small apartment buildings. Some front porches were still decorated with pride flags and lingering holiday lights. In the days following her death, neighbors grew weary of media attention. One handwritten sign taped to a front door read, “NO MEDIA ...

U.S to leave 66 international organizations, signaling deeper retreat from global cooperation The Trump administration announced it will withdraw from 66 international organizations, including U.N. agencies focused on climate, population, and labor, as part of a broader retreat from global cooperation. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday suspending U.S. support for the agencies, commissions, and partnerships after a review of all international involvement and funding. Officials said the decision targets organizations they view as redundant, mismanaged, or pursuing agendas contrary to U.S. interests. Many of the affected entities are affiliated with the United Nations, covering climate negotiations, migration, labor, and other programs the administration has criticized as promoting “woke” policies. Non-U.N. bodies on the list include the Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, and the Global...

WARNER BROS AGAIN REJECTS PARAMOUNT TAKEOVER, URGES SHAREHOLDERS TO BACK NETFLIX BID. (PHOTO).

Image
Warner Bros again rejects Paramount takeover, urges shareholders to back Netflix bid Warner Bros. Discovery again rejected a takeover bid from Paramount on Wednesday, telling shareholders to continue backing a competing deal with Netflix that the company says offers greater value and far more certainty. The board said it reviewed Paramount’s revised proposal and concluded it still falls short of what is best for the company and its investors, despite Paramount’s efforts to sweeten its hostile offer. Warner’s leadership has consistently pushed shareholders to support the $72 billion agreement with Netflix, which would involve the sale of its studio and streaming assets, while Paramount has pursued a $77.9 billion bid to acquire the entire company. Warner executives argued that Paramount’s proposal relies heavily on debt and lacks sufficient safeguards for shareholders if the deal fails to close, while the Netflix transaction is structured to deliver clearer value with fewer financial ri...

Earlier this week, Trump made remarks suggesting he supported an operation to remove Petro, whom he accused of ties to cocaine trafficking. Trump also warned the Colombian leader to “watch his ass.” Petro strongly denied the allegations, warning that any attempt to arrest him would “unleash the people’s jaguar” and stating he was ready to defend himself. During Wednesday’s hour-long call, Petro said he explained Colombia’s efforts against drug trafficking, shared related data, and discussed the situation in Venezuela. Both leaders emphasized restoring dialogue, with Trump noting he appreciated Petro’s call and tone, and Petro...

Image
NO RIFT BETWEEN GOVERNORS ABIODUN, SANWO-OLU The attention of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State has been drawn to some reports making the rounds in some online media platforms and blogs, insinuating that there is a rift between Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun. We wish to state clearly that this is not true. In fact it is the direct opposite of the relationship that exists between the two leaders. For the avoidance of doubt, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Governor Sanwo-Olu enjoy a very cordial brotherly relationship. The two brother-Governors meet regularly and speak with each other frequently on matters of mutual interest for the development of their respective states. This is partly because their states share common boundaries and are also bound together by socio-cultural norms. We, therefore would like to advise those seeking to plant a seed of discord between the two leaders with fake news to desist forthwith as both Prince Dap...
