Ndiowu Community in Orumba North, Appeals for Postponement of Igwe Election. The Ndiowu Community in Orumba North Local Government Area has called on Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, to postpone its traditional ruler (Igwe) election scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2026, and reschedule it for Easter or December 2026 to ensure wider participation. Speaking at a press briefing in Ndiowu Town Hall, the immediate past President General, Engineer Chike Emenike, said many indigenes, especially those in the diaspora, would be disenfranchised if the election holds as scheduled. He also faulted the directive by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Town Union Affairs, Mr Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, that the town’s constitution would not be used, insisting that only a court can halt the use of a community constitution.
