NDLEA ARRESTS COCAINE KINGPIN AFTER 13 YEARS ON THE RUN, BUSTS SECRET IMO DRUG LAB. (PHOTOS).
Khimberly Chuquipa sadly passed away on February 25th.
According to the family’s GoFundMe, "Major blood vessels in her brain ruptured, and she was rushed to UCLA Children's hospital, placed in an induced coma, and underwent complex emergency brain surgery. Her family remained by her side, praying and hoping she would come home, but at 3:30 a.m., her heart gave out.”
This heartbreaking outcome is the result of a bullying incident that had taken place at school 10 days prior to her passing.
Khimberly was a 6th-grade student at Reseda High School. The charter school has students from 6th to 12th grade. While walking in the hallway between classes, another 12-year-old girl threw a metal water bottle and struck Khimberly in the head. Officials have stated that the 12-year-old girl was merely walking to class when she was attacked and struck with the heavy metal bottle. The 12-year-old had reported being bullied by this student, and other students.
Following the incident, Khimberly was taken to the emergency room before being sent home for the remainder of the day. Ten days after the incident, Khimberly began suffering from a major headache before collapsing. She was rushed to the hospital, where she ultimately passed away.
The Los Angeles Police Department has announced that Khimberly's death is being investigated as a homicide. However, due to the case involving minors, they cannot release any more details at this time.
Family and friends of Khimberly gathered outside of Reseda High School last night on Friday, February 27th. The mourners left flowers and other memorials while demanding justice for Khimberly.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Khimberly Chuquipa. We hope her family gets justice for her senseless passing.
