  NDLEA Arrests Cocaine Kingpin After 13 Years on the Run, Busts Secret Imo Drug Lab National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,  NDLEA, says it has taken into custody a suspected drug kingpin, Reginald Peter Chidiebere, after 13 years in hiding following the seizure of large consignments of cocaine and heroin linked to him by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos. The drug lord was first arrested in 2013 over the shipment of cocaine into Nigeria and was subsequently arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in charge no. FHC/L/187c/2923. He, however, jumped bail and went into hiding after the trial judge granted him bail in 2013 and has since remained at large.  FG  Embarks On Free Cancer Screening For 1,000 Citizens In South East 


The Federal Government has flagged off a nationwide cancer awareness and free screening programme in Ebonyi State, targeting 1,000 persons to be drawn from five states in the South-East and other neighbouring States.


Samuel Okpor reports that the initiative attracted health practitioners from across the country including the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of health and Social Development, Daju Kachollom

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
