  NDLEA Arrests Cocaine Kingpin After 13 Years on the Run, Busts Secret Imo Drug Lab National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,  NDLEA, says it has taken into custody a suspected drug kingpin, Reginald Peter Chidiebere, after 13 years in hiding following the seizure of large consignments of cocaine and heroin linked to him by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos. The drug lord was first arrested in 2013 over the shipment of cocaine into Nigeria and was subsequently arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in charge no. FHC/L/187c/2923. He, however, jumped bail and went into hiding after the trial judge granted him bail in 2013 and has since remained at large.  Nigeria Calls For De-escalation In Gulf Region Amid Rising Tensions


Nigeria has expressed deep concern over escalating tensions in the Gulf region, calling for maximum restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation with potentially grave consequences for regional and global stability.


A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa emphasizes respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law, urging parties to prioritize peaceful resolution.


Nigeria advocates restraint in using lethal force to protect civilians, and adhere to UN Charter and Geneva Convention.


As a longstanding advocate of non-alignment, multilateralism, and constructive engagement, Nigeria supports renewed diplomatic efforts within established international and regional frameworks to resolve the crisis. 


The Nigerian Government further expressed its solidarity with the international community, seeking sustainable peace through diplomacy and mutual respect.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
