 PRESS RELEASE NAF SUSTAINS HIGH-TEMPO AIR OPERATIONS, DESTROYS TERRORIST HIDEOUTS IN SOUTHERN TUMBUNS The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, sustained operational pressure on terrorist elements with a precision air interdiction mission conducted on 24 April 2026 at about 1850 hours over Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist enclave in the Southern Tumbuns. Acting on credible intelligence of terrorist activity, NAF air assets conducted a focused surveillance sweep, during which several insurgents were sighted moving along concealed tracks. The targets were trailed to structures hidden under dense foliage, confirming deliberate attempts at concealment. Following positive identification, the NAF executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions. ARCON suspends two top officials for approving ‘All Eyes on Judiciary’ billboard

The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has suspended two top officials for approving the ‘All Eyes on Judiciary’ billboard advert in Abuja.

Reports have it that the Federal Government on Tuesday dissolved the Secretariat of the Advertising Standard Panel (ASP) over its approval of billboards termed as blackmailing the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal with the title: ‘All Eyes on The Judiciary.’ 

A statement by the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, confirmed the suspension.

The suspended officials are the Director and Deputy Director Regulations of the council.

Fadolapo said the advertisement is considered blackmail against the Nigerian Judiciary, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, and particularly the Honourable Justices of the Tribunal who are expected to discharge their judicial functions without fear or favour over a matter that is currently jus pendis.

The statement in part reads: “The Council would set up a committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the “erroneous approval” of one of the concepts of the advert and the breach of the vetting guidelines.  

“Consequently, the Director and Deputy Director, Regulations have also been suspended. The suspension is to enable an unprejudiced investigation of the issue. The Advertising Standards Panel (ASP) Secretariat failing to diligently exercise its function as the gatekeeper of advertising, advertisement, and marketing communications is hereby dissolved.”
