 PRESIDENT TINUBU RENEWS THE APPOINTMENT OF NIPSS DG, PROF AYO OMOTAYO President Bola Tinubu has approved the renewal of the appointment of Professor Ayo Omotayo as the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru. A statement by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the appointment is for a final term of four years. President Muhammadu Buhari initially appointed Omotayo in November 2021. The Senate confirmed the appointment in February 2022.  Omotayo is a Professor of Environmental Sustainability. Hayward Jenkins, 38, is facing first-degree intentional homicide charges in connection with the death of his 66-year-old mother, Cheryl Jenkins, according to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE.  Authorities allege that Cheryl was struck with a wooden baseball bat inside her own home. Officers arrived at the 1700 block of South 44th Street just after 8 a.m. after Cheryl’s fiancé reported that Jenkins had hit her on the head with the bat and left the residence.  Emergency responders found Cheryl lying face down in a guest room, the bat reportedly resting on her. Cody Siebert of the East Range Police Department passed away unexpectedly on February 27, less than 24 hours after doctors diagnosed him with a brain infection. The Minnesota officer leaves behind a grieving partner and two young children, ages 2 and 1. A GoFundMe campaign set up to support his family described Siebert as someone who had a “rare gift for connection.” “To know Cody was to have a friend,” the page read.  “If you crossed paths with him, you were in for a genuine conversation.
