BRAKE FAILURE CITED AS CAUSE OF ACCIDENT INVOLVING SECURITY OFFICERS IN ABIA- FRSC. (PHOTO).

  The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Abia State Command, Ngozi Ezeoma, has confirmed the death of one security personnel in a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on 30th March, 2025, involving a vehicle from the joint task force of Operation Crush, at Isieke along the Umuahia-Bende road. According to Ezeoma in a statement, the accident was caused by brake failure. The vehicle veered off the road and fell into a ditch, leaving eight officers with varying degrees of injury. The injured officers were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia by the Police before the arrival of the FRSC. Unfortunately, the deceased officer was taken to the mortuary. The wreckage of the patrol van has since been recovered from the ditch.

President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administrationā€™s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeriaā€™s creative sector as a driving force for global influence.


The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja.


President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians areā€”ā€a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared valuesā€.


In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications, Office of The Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, under the theme, ā€œCarnival of Renewed Hope: A Pledge to My Countryā€, the event showcased performances from across Nigeria and beyond, demonstrating the administrationā€™s commitment to cultural diplomacy.


The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, working alongside the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Abuja International Carnival Secretariat, also received presidential commendation for their role in organising the event.


Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Oraelumo Raphael, described the carnival as a unique platform involving Nigeriaā€™s 36 states, the FCT, and participants from around the world. He reiterated the Federal Ministryā€™s role as the coordinating body and the FCTā€™s role as host.


The Abuja International Carnival continues to serve as a vibrant showcase of Nigeriaā€™s rich cultural heritage and a platform for fostering international collaboration and understanding.
