A GOVT SCHOOL TEACHER FROM INDIA HAS BLAMED MASS MEDIA, ESPECIALLY THE PUSHPA FILMS, FOR NEGATIVELY INFLUENCING STUDENTS. (PHOTO).

A government school teacher from Yusufguda, Hyderabad, has blamed mass media, especially the Pushpa films, for negatively influencing students.

Speaking to the Education Commission, she expressed concern over students’ reckless behavior, including inappropriate hairstyles and vulgar language. She said both government and private schools are facing this issue, and as an administrator, she feels like she is failing to control the situation.

The teacher also mentioned that disciplining students has become difficult because punishments could put them under pressure, leading to serious consequences. She stated that even calling parents does not seem to help, as students do not care about the complaints. According to her, mass media is responsible for this change, and the Pushpa films were released without considering their impact on young minds.

Her comments sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users agreed that movies influence students’ behavior, while others felt she was oversimplifying the issue. Supporters of her statement pointed out that certain films promote bad habits, while critics argued that blaming films alone is unfair. Some sarcastically responded that if films had such an impact, students should also be inspired to study or take up good professions after watching positive movies.

The Pushpa films, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, follow the journey of a laborer who becomes a red sanders smuggler. The first film, Pushpa: The Rise (2021), and its sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), were huge box office successes. While many fans love the movies, some believe their influence on young audiences needs to be examined more carefully.
