Senior Citizen Identifies Humility as Requisite to Education Success

A retired Education Director, Mrs Bibian Nweze has enjoined mothers and prospective mothers to prioritize inculcation of humility to early life of girl children to making their education fulfilling.
He said this while interacting with information officers on International Women Day Celebration shortly after special Mass, at Agbelu Village Hall, Akpo, in Aguata LGA, on March 9.
The Educationalist said, "Girl child education is sine qua non to development, harmonious coexistence. I am not saying that male child education should be undermined but both sex should be given equal opportunities to education.
"Education helps to wipe off ignorance. As such, if a girl child is properly educated, she becomes equipped enough to build her family, Church and the society at large.
"In order to achieve this feat effectively, the virtue of humility and submissiveness should be inculcated to the girl child from onset. It is not about sending her to school at six month but staying close, making her understand the importance of respect for elders, soft speaking, emotional intelligence, even before school age.
"The dictum, what a man can do, woman does better, does not suggest unnecessary rivalry with male counterpart but can do it spirit. God created male and female differently with corresponding strength, to each of them to accommodate their field of endeavour to making life better for all."
Mrs Nweze regretted increase divorce cases and domestic violence across the world, pleading with married women to humble themselves and submit to their husbands.
"Instead of going the way of muscle and struggle, feminine soft tune, tears, prayers and emotional wisdom could solve the problems."
She expressed worries over sudden increase on idolatry among youths, describing it as unfortunate, yet pleading with parents not to go hypertensive over it.
She emphasized that anything that is not rooted of God must be uprooted.
"We as parents owe the duty of telling them to jettison idolatry, weep before them to express our seriousness, pray and leave the rest to God."
Mrs Nweze wondered why a woman who is not bad upstairs should delight on humongous riches of son or daughter without known sources.
"God blesses the work of human hands, how then will your son in the university offer gift of car to you as parents? Some of them go as far as buying a whole house. What is the hand work of this child that is blessed to this tune while in the university."
She pleaded with parents to caution their children over get-rich-quick syndrome(Ego mbute), emphasizing that nothing good comes easy.
"The only project that starts from top is grave digging, which marks the end of man. Teach your children how to start small. Riches are traced to humble beginning."
Mrs Bibian Nweze who retired as Vice Principal Academics at St Peters Secondary School, Achina in 2020 congratulated women all over the world in their celebration of International Women Day, 2025.
She urged women to channel energy to nation building via the small unit of their immediate families.
