 FG Reaffirms Commitment To Operationalize Sokoto Hajj Airport Ahead Of 2026 Pilgrimage The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development announced that the Sokoto State Hajj Airport is set to become operational ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. The Minister of Aviation and Eerospace Festus Keyamo reaffirmed this commitment during a meeting with Sokoto State Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu. Keyamo highlighted Sokoto's importance for Hajj operations and assured that relevant agencies are working to meet necessary infrastructure and operational requirements. He directed officials to identify and address potential bottlenecks. Governor Aliyu says the airport project is 90% completed and funded by the state government with five aircraft being acquired. He appealed for expedited approvals to operationalize the airport for the 2026 Hajj. INDIA HOSPITAL CONCEDES TO EL-ZAKZAKY'S DEMAND,ALLOW APPOINTED DOCTORS TO TREAT HIM.{PHOTOS}.

       The management of the Indian hospital had agreed to commence treatment of the IMN leader with doctors he had initially booked an appointment with. The management of Medanta Hospital in New Delhi, India, has yielded to the demands of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, by allowing the doctors he initially had an a ppointment with to attend to his failing health. It was reported earlier that El-Zakzaky could soon return to Nigeria after being given a two-hour ultimatum by the Indian Government to leave the country for refusing to be treated by unknown doctors at the hospital on Wednesday. A top member of the Islamic Human Right Commission in London, who spoke with Sahara Reporters, disclosed that the management of the Indian hospital had agreed to commence treatment of the IMN leader with doctors he had initially booked an appointment with.-SAHARA REPORTERS

        President Buhari has directed the suspension from office, with immediate effect, of the Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr Okoi Obono-Obla. The suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of ongoing ICPC investigations into a number of cases relating to Mr. Obono-Obla.

EDO STATE SPARE PARTS MARKET BURNT DOWN OVERNIGHT.{PHOTOS}.

       Goods worth several millions of naira have been destroyed in a midnight fire that razed the biggest motor spare parts market in Edo State located at Uwelu, in Egor Local Government Area of the state. The fire was said to have started at about 11:45pm Monday night, August 12th and lasted till about 4am after efforts from fire service men from the University of Benin and the Nigerian Army. Sections of the market affected by the fire were the lines were Mercedes Benz, Mazda, Ford and Toyota parts are sold. It was gathered that some of the affected traders just bought goods to fill their stores. Some of the traders were said to have collapsed when they visited the scene and saw the magnitude of their losses. One of them was said to have attempted running into the raging fire, but was stopped.        BREAKING: Nigerian Prisons Service Changes Name To Correctional Service.... President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Nigerian Correctional Service Bill into law. The Act repeals the Nigerian Prisons Service Act. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang, disclosed this to State House correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday. With the signing, the Nigerian Prisons Service will now be called the Nigerian Correctional Service.One more photo below.

      The Nigerian Army has inducted and operationalised four newly acquired Mine Resistant Anti Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAPs) in the North East theatre of operation to enhance fire power and protection of troops fighting Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) Terrorists. Recall that the Nigerian Army in partnership with Proforce Nigeria Limited, - an indigenous Armour Vehicle Manufacturing Company based in Ode-Remo in Ogun State had delivered the first ever Nigerian Army - Proforce locally manufactured MRAPs, four of which were inaugurated on August 1, 2019 by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
