 Seventeen bodies recovered in Comoros from boat carrying African migrants Seventeen bodies have been recovered from a boat ‌carrying African migrants that was found on the coast of Comoros, the Indian Ocean archipelago's interior minister said on Thursday. Authorities ​said they believed the migrants were attempting to ​reach Mayotte, a French territory located between Mozambique ⁠and Madagascar. The vessel was discovered late on Wednesday after ​residents of the coastal town of Mitsamiouli heard cries for ​help and alerted police, a local hospital director told Reuters. Our rejection is grounded in the following irrefutable reasons: 1. *Sub Judice – Pendency Before a Court of Competent Jurisdiction*    The matter of the Awka Kingship (Eze Uzu) is currently pending before a court of competent jurisdiction. Receiving the final report from the Commission of Inquiry into the Awka Traditional Stool dispute, the Governor emphasized that his administration will not tolerate the existence of two traditional rulers in any community. The dispute, which has lingered for over ten years, prompted the state government to intervene after internal peace mechanisms failed. Governor Soludo revealed that he had previously mandated the President-General of Awka—who was unanimously selected by the community—to mediate.
