 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI FOIL ATTACKS, SEIZE TWO TRUCK LOADS OF TERRORIST LOGISTICS, ARREST TERRORIST SUSPECT, 16 SUPPLIERS IN NORTH EAST Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have foiled multiple terrorist attacks and intensified offensive operations against insurgent logistics networks, recording significant successes across the theatre between 28 and 30 March 2026. In a major operational breakthrough, troops deployed at Damboa thwarted a planned Boko Haram/ISWAP attack after detecting terrorists’ movement through surveillance systems. KENTUCKY- A VEHICLE PLUNGED INTO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER, CLAIMING THE LIVES OF THREE INDIVIDUALS OVER THE WEEKEND.(PHOTO).

 Kentucky- A vehicle plunged into the Mississippi River, claiming the lives of three individuals over the weekend. The Hickman County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle in the river on the evening of Saturday, March 28th. According to the caller, the crash occurred at Ingram Barge in Columbus, Kentucky. They reported that the vehicle had hit the ramp before plunging into the river. Authorities dispatched a diver from McCracken County Emergency Management to assist in recovering the vehicle.  Once recovered, authorities discovered three deceased individuals inside of the vehicle.  The three individuals have been identified as 30-year-old Krista Whitt, 42-year-old Joshua Watson and 38-year-old Shranda Milam. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.  Our thoughts are with families of the victims.

 Mali denies freeing 200 suspected terrorists in exchange for uninterrupted fuel supply The Malian army has denied releasing around 200 suspected terrorists in mid-March to secure an end to attacks on fuel convoys. "These remarks, reported by certain media outlets, are intended to tarnish Mali's image and undermine trust between the people and their institutions, and particularly between the Malian people and their defence and security forces", Souleymane Dembele, director of information and public relations for the armed forces, told a press briefing, AFP reported. "This is pure manipulation, completely unfounded and lacking any reliable source", he said.  OPERATION HADIN KAI TROOPS FOIL MASS ABDUCTION, RESCUE OVER 150 CIVILIANS AHEAD OF EASTER PERIOD Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have once again demonstrated operational dominance and unwavering commitment to the protection of civilians by foiling a planned mass abduction by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Sector 2. The incident occurred at about 1450 hours on 30 March 2026, when troops under Sector 2 deployed at Dutse Kura came under attack while escorting civilians along the Buratai–Kamuya axis. While decisively engaging the terrorists, surveillance assets identified the insurgents attempting to abduct a large number of civilians including men, women and children using about 17 vehicles into the bush.  In a swift and coordinated response, the Quick Response Force reinforced the location, repelled the attack and launched a pursuit towards the Mangari area, forcing the terrorists to abandon all abducted civilians and vehicles.  Yusuf Tuggar Resigns As Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has stepped down as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. In his resignation letter, he thanked President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and praised the administration’s "4D Foreign Policy Strategy." He also expressed appreciation to the ministry’s staff and the diplomatic community for their support during his tenure. His leadership focused on people-centred diplomacy, diaspora engagement, and strengthening bilateral and regional ties, including security cooperation and economic diplomacy to boost foreign investment. Tuggar submitted his resignation ahead of the March 31 deadline for political appointees.

 Nigeria Immigration Service Yobe State Launches New Policy On Migration  The Nigeria Immigration Service Yobe state Command has joined other commands and other stakeholders to launch the nationwide sensitization on the Validated National Migration Policy 2025, themed “Enhancing Awareness for Effective Migration Management and Border Governance.” The new policy updates the 2015 framework, addressing existing gaps and introducing improvements on evidence-based decision-making and global best practices.  YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES WEIGH-IN- ALLOWANCE FOR JOURNALISTS AND NON JOURNALISTS ALIKE Yobe state government has approved the implementation of weigh- in allowance for journalists and non journalist in the state.  A statement by the permanent secretary establishment Zainab Muhammad Ago for Head of Service indicates that the approval followed a joint request by the Union Bodies of the NUJ and RATTAWU pursuance to their Weigh-in Allowance that applies to all workers working in  Radio and Television as well as the council for Arts and Culture sector.
