 FG Reaffirms Commitment To Operationalize Sokoto Hajj Airport Ahead Of 2026 Pilgrimage The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development announced that the Sokoto State Hajj Airport is set to become operational ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. The Minister of Aviation and Eerospace Festus Keyamo reaffirmed this commitment during a meeting with Sokoto State Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu. Keyamo highlighted Sokoto's importance for Hajj operations and assured that relevant agencies are working to meet necessary infrastructure and operational requirements. He directed officials to identify and address potential bottlenecks. Governor Aliyu says the airport project is 90% completed and funded by the state government with five aircraft being acquired. He appealed for expedited approvals to operationalize the airport for the 2026 Hajj.   Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel, Half of a Yellow Sun, has won the Women’s Prize For Fiction "Winner of Winners" award following a public vote. This comes thirteen years after she won the Women’s prize for fiction. Adichie’s novel was voted over works by Zadie Smith, Lionel Shriver, Rose Tremain, Maggie O’Farrell and the late Andrea Levy. The one-off prize, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the award, was judged by members of the public, who were asked to name their favourite of the 25 winners. Adichie’s novel, which follows the lives of several characters caught up in the civil war in Nigeria in the late 1960s, beat titles including Zadie Smith’s On Beauty and Lionel Shriver’s We Need to Talk About Kevin. More than 8,500 people voted, according to the prize. Adichie was just 29 when she won the Women’s prize for her second novel in 2007. The young woman allegedly murdered and dumped into gutter in Anambra has been identified as Chinasa Sophia, a graduate of the Institute of the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Enugu. The corpse of the deceased was found dumped inside a drainage at Adikpi village, along Osumenyi/Akwuihedi road, Osumenyi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the State. Spokesperson of the Police Command, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, November 11, said her corpse was deposited at Visitation Hospital morgue in Osumenyi. PETROL TO NOW SELL AT N168-170 PER LITRE AS NNPC RAISES PETROL DEPOT PRICE.{PHOTOS}.

  The Petroleum Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, has increased the ex-depot price of petrol from N147.67 per litre to N155.17 per litre. This means petrol will now start selling at N168 to N170. The PPMC disclosed this in an internal memo with reference number PPMC/C/MK/003, dated November 11, 2020, and signed by Tijjani Ali. The memo said the new ex-depot price would take effect from Friday. In its PMS price proposal for November, the PPMC put the landing cost of petrol at N128.89 per litre, up from N119.77 per litre in September/October. It said the estimated minimum pump price of the product would increase to N161.36 per litre from N153.86 per litre. The N7 increase in ex-depot price would translate into an increase in pump prices with retail prices expected to reach N170 per litre. Following the deregulation of petrol prices in September, marketers across the country had adjusted their pump prices to between N158 and N162 ...

The returnees all – males arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos from Dusseldorf Airport aboard a chartered aircraft belonging to Envelope Airline. The flight conveying the returness landed at about 2.30 pm.
