 VP SHETTIMA TO LAUNCH FIRST UNIVERSITY PODS IN AFRICA Vice President Kashim Shettima will flag off the first University Innovation Pods in Africa at the University of Lagos on Tuesday April, 7th 2026  An initiative of the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Federal Government aims to reconfigure Nigeria’s development architecture to transform universities into engines of innovation and enterprise creation, among other objectives. Deputy Chief of Staff to the President Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia in a press conference at the Presidential Villa says the UNIPOD initiative underscores the Federal Government's commitment to repositioning Nigerian universities as drivers of economic growth, innovation, and enterprise development, addressing the disconnect between formal education and labour market outcomes. President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with family and friends of veteran journalist and sports administrator, Bisi Lawrence, who left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s media practice, inspiring many to take up the profession and coaching them to reach the pinnacle of their career.
The President joins the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Guild of Editors and Sports Writers Association in mourning the renowned columnist and sports enthusiast, who served as Vice Chairman of Nigeria Football Association (NFA) and chaired the media committee for Nigeria ’99 FIFA U-20 World Cup, with outstanding results.
President Buhari believes the frontline journalist, more popularly known as Uncle Biz Law, used his talent in writing, organising and mentoring to serve the country meritoriously, and his legacy of setting new standards with every responsibility will always be remembered.
The President prays that the Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest, and comfort all his loved ones.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
