Residents of Enekwasumpu Appeal for Government Intervention on Agulu Road

‎By Uchechukeu Muolokwu

‎Residents and commercial transport operators in the Enekwasumpu area of Nkpor have urged the government to intervene in the deplorable state of the Agulu road. The road, which connects the Mgbuka market to Omagba axis, is a vital commercial artery, with daily traffic from commercial motorcycles, tricycles, and vehicles transporting goods and passengers.

‎A tricycle rider, who preferred anonymity, stated that the road was previously constructed by Former Governor  Mr Peter Obi, but has since deteriorated significantly. He appealed for government attention, citing the difficulties faced by riders and passengers, particularly during the rainy season, when the road becomes impassable.

‎Mrs. Chinenye Obi, a resident, described the road as "unmovable" during the rainy season, with deep potholes that damage vehicles. She expressed concern for the safety of drivers and the inconvenience caused to residents, who are forced to rely on tricycles and other modes of transport.

‎Mr. Peter, another resident, corroborated the accounts, stating that the road's condition has made daily commutes stressful. He appealed to the government to repair the road, emphasizing that the rainy season is approaching.

‎The residents and transport operators are seeking government intervention to repair and maintain the Agulu road, ensuring safe and smooth passage for all users.
