The Obidient Movement has vowed to proceed with its planned nationwide protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), despite rising tensions and alleged intimidation. National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, made this declaration in a recent interview, emphasising the group’s resolve to mobilise supporters across the country for the demonstration, tagged #OccupyINEC. Tanko, however, declined to disclose the exact date of the protest, citing fears of further harassment and intimidation of potential participants. “No, we cannot reveal the date now. We also know they are planning for us. Of course, INEC is our target,” he said. Tanko accused the electoral body of acting as “arbiter, judge, accuser and defender at the same time,” claiming INEC’s actions were creating disaffection within the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections. “Our major issue is the manner in which INEC has been going about creating disaffection in the oppos...

Atiku Abubakar Alleges Tinubu Govt Sponsoring Factional ADC Chairman Nafiu Bala’s Lavish Security Convoy Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of sponsoring the sudden luxurious lifestyle of Nafiu Bala, a factional chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Atiku claimed that Bala now moves with heavy security convoys similar to those of a state governor, complete with vehicles and official residence, which he described as clear evidence of external interference in the party. The former vice presidential candidate made the allegations during an interview with DW Hausa on Sunday. “So far, people from all states are still joining the party. Nothing has happened to suggest that Nigerians are withdrawing their support. Not at all,” Atiku said. He attributed the ongoing leadership crisis in the ADC to “external interference,” alleging that some individuals have been “bought over” because the ruling party views the ADC’s gr...

Prince Louis, 7, breaks royal protocol for first time during Easter service Prince Louis drew attention this Easter Sunday by wearing trousers instead of the traditional shorts typically expected of young royal boys.  The seven-year-old joined his family at St George’s Chapel in Windsor dressed in a navy suit, marking a departure from a centuries-old custom that has long been considered a subtle marker of aristocratic status.  Traditionally, shorts are worn by boys until they reach a certain age, with trousers reserved for older boys and men. Etiquette experts have explained that this practice dates back to the 16th century and has been quietly upheld across generations.  Prince George, for example, only began wearing trousers regularly around age eight, though he had occasional exceptions for formal roles or cold weather events.  Louis’s choice this Easter was seen as another sign that the royal family is gradually relaxing these conventions, adapting to moder...
