FG DEEPENS CLEAN  ENERGY DRIVE, TARGETS NORTHERN EXPANSION WITH KATSTINA HUB

‎The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to expand clean and affordable transportation across northern Nigeria, as Katsina State set to benefit from a new partnership under the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG & EV).

‎This follows a high-level engagement between officials of the initiative and the Katsina State Government aimed at accelerating the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the state.

‎Under the plan, the Federal Government will support the establishment of CNG refuelling stations, vehicle conversion centres, EV charging infrastructure, and a dedicated clean energy corridor along key northern routes. The programme also includes the training of youths as certified technicians to drive local capacity in the emerging sector.

‎The move is part of broader federal efforts to cushion the impact of rising fuel costs on Nigerians, while positioning the country towards a more sustainable and cost-effective transport system.
