 FG DEEPENS CLEAN  ENERGY DRIVE, TARGETS NORTHERN EXPANSION WITH KATSTINA HUB ‎ ‎The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to expand clean and affordable transportation across northern Nigeria, as Katsina State set to benefit from a new partnership under the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG & EV). ‎ ‎This follows a high-level engagement between officials of the initiative and the Katsina State Government aimed at accelerating the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the state. ‎ ‎Under the plan, the Federal Government will support the establishment of CNG refuelling stations, vehicle conversion centres, EV charging infrastructure, and a dedicated clean energy corridor along key northern routes.  Benin holds presidential election Benin is voting for a new president on Sunday, with nearly eight million voters eligible to cast ballots to choose a successor to Patrice Talon. President Talon is stepping down after two five-year terms and has endorsed Finance Minister Romuald Wadagni as his potential successor. Backed by the two main ruling parties, Wadagni is widely expected to win. He is being challenged by Paul Hounkpe, an opposition figure whose campaign has been very low-key and who needed help from majority lawmakers to secure the required parliamentary endorsements to get on the ballot. The main opposition The Democrats party is not fielding a candidate as its leader, Renaud Agbodjo, failed to secure the required number of parliamentary endorsements needed to contest the vote.  A 25-year-old Chicago father was jumped by four individuals severely assaulted and left to pass away in the street.  Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in this tragic case. Sadly, Alexander Kazanowsi passed on March 28th after a four day fight for his life.  Alexander was found laying face-down in the street on the corner of Belmont and Harding by a pedestrian at 3:15 a.m. on the morning of March 24th.   Alexander leaves behind a daughter and son on the way.   Investigators have determined that Alexander had been in an altercation inside of the Tune Up Bar on West Belmont Avenue. Following the altercation inside, Alexander had been removed from the establishment. He lived a short distance from the bar and began walking home when he was jumped by four individuals who beat him and left him lying in the street.  Authorities released surveillance footage of Alexander's attackers on April, 8th.
