 Improved Staff Welfare: FG Launches Employees Compensation Scheme The Federal Government has launched  Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS) to enhance staff welfare, improve workplace safety, and boost productivity across the Federal Civil Service. Head of the Civil Service of the Federation,  Didi Esther Walson-Jack, disclosed this during the commissioning of the ECS Help Desk in Abuja, describing the Scheme as a key intervention to provide timely compensation and support for Civil Servants affected by work-related injuries, diseases, disabilities, or death.     She noted that the ECS complements existing welfare programmes, including the Group Life Assurance Scheme, while expanding protection for employees and their families, reflecting the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to safeguarding the well-being and dignity of Public Servants. The Federal Government Has Arraigned The Former Governor Of Kaduna State Nasir El-rufai On A Five- Count Charge Bordering On Breaches Of Cybercrimes.

The Department Of State Services Filed A Five-count Amended Charge Against Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-rufai For Allegedly Intercepting And Tapping The Telephone Communications Of The National Security Adviser,  Nuhu Ribadu, Thereby Violating The Cybercrimes Act. 

The  Dss Accused El-rufai Of Conducting Illegal Surveillance And Security Breaches. 

The Charge Rely On A February 13, 2026, Arise TV Interview Where El-rufai Allegedly Discussed Intercepting The NSA's Communications.

The Amended Counts Include Breaches Of The Cybercrimes Prohibition, Prevention, Amendment Act, 2024, And The Nigerian Communications Act, 2003.

When The Charge Was Read To The Defendant, He Pleaded Not Guilty.

The Prosecution Therefore Urged The Court To Accelerate Hearing As He Needs Few Days To Establish Its Case Against The Defendant.

The Defense Counsel Raised The Issue Of Bail Which Justice Joyce Abdulmalik Says Will Be Considered At The Next Adjourned Date Schedules For May 18th 2026.

The Charge The Former Governor Of Kaduna State Is Standing For Is Separate From A Concurrent Cases Instituted Against Him By The Icpc On  Alleged Fraud Of 11 Billion Naira During His Tenure.
