DRAMA IN EDO STATE AS FAMILY ALMOST CANCEL BURIAL OVER MISSING EYE OF THEIR DECEASED . (VIDEO/PHOTO).

 Drama in Edo state as family almost cancel burial over missing eye of their deceased  There was drama in Edo state last Friday after a family almost ordered the cancellation of their loved ones funeral after discovering her eyes were missing. According to MC Oviakpo, a friend of the husband of the deceased, the family had visited the morgue to collect her corpse on the day of the funeral only to discover that her eyes were missing. Upon inquiry, the morturary attendant claimed that the eye dissolved after some chemicals were used to wash her corpse. The family of the deceased however dismissed this explanation and insisted that the husband of the deceased must provide her body in the complete form he got married to her, meaning her eyes must be in place before the funeral can proceed. After much argument, a doctor was invited after after examination, he confirmed that the eyes got affected by the chemicals used to embalm her ad also because of her nine-months stay in the mort...

 Operatives of LAWMA’s Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement team were actively on duty on April 18, 2026, along Gbagada Expressway intensifying efforts to curb and completely eradicate indiscriminate waste disposal across Lagos State. During the operation, cart pushers who were engaged in the unauthorized collection and dumping of waste at undesignated locations were apprehended and dislodged for constituting environmental nuisance and undermining the state’s sanitation framework.  FG TO DEVELOP NEW POLICY ON STRENGTHENING PALM OIL PRODUCTION FOR SELF SUFFICIENCY The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has announced that the government is developing a new policy aimed at strengthening palm oil production and reducing Nigeria’s over-dependence on the importation of the product. Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, stated that the initiative is expected to generate $500 million in annual import savings, revive the palm oil sub-sector, and promote food sovereignty in the country. In a message delivered at a workshop organised by the ministry in collaboration with key stakeholders in the palm oil industry, the Minister said the proposed policy and programme would provide institutional coordination and policy support for agriculture-linked manufacturing and large-scale plantation development across the project’s operational areas.

 DR Congo warring sides agree to exchange prisoners and allow aid access The Democratic Republic of Congo and the M23 rebel group agreed to release prisoners within 10 days, as well as ensure unimpeded movement of vital humanitarian aid. The prisoner exchange is one of the resolutions reached at the conclusion of the latest round of talks held since Monday in Switzerland, Anadolu Agency reported. The talks, mediated by Qatar, were relocated from Doha due to the Middle East crisis. “The parties agreed to proceed within 10 days, with the release of prisoners in accordance with the detainee release mechanism signed on September 14, 2025 in order to continue building confidence,” according to a statement at the end of the talks. Benjamin Mbonimpa, permanent secretary of the M23, told reporters that the prisoner exchange concerns 311 M23 rebels and 166 prisoners on the government side.
