GOVERNOR SOLUDO APPOINTS DR. JUSTINA ANYADIEGWU AS CHAIRMAN, ANAMBRA STATE UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION BOARD (ASUBEB)
The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has appointed Dr. Justina Chinyere Anyadiegwu as the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB).
Currently the Provost, Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Dr. Anyadiegwu is a foremost English Language lecturer with over 30 years experience, having taught at the primary, secondary and tertiary education levels in Nigeria. Holding requisite qualifications such as B.Ed. LANGUAGES Arts/English from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, M.A. English Language and Ph.D. English Language and Literature from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. She is an Applied Linguist with emphasis on active learning strategies and inclusive language education.
She was a consultant trainer for the British Council between 2012 and 2014 on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Teaching Knowledge Test. She is also a Master Trainer for the British Council’s Strengthening Teachers’ English Proficiency (STEP) aimed at inculcating the mastery of classroom English to Basic Education teachers in Nigeria.
A vastly experienced academician, Dr. Nwadiegwu consulted for teacher development programmes organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission, Anambra State, Nigeria in 2012 during which she facilitated the Oral English aspect of teaching phonics and phonemic awareness to Basic Education teachers. This greatly helped in equipping them with skills in teaching word recognition, pronunciation and reading fluency.
Dr. Justina Chinyere Anyadiegwu is expected to leverage her extensive experience as a renowned teacher, linguist, and administrator to help transform the universal basic education system in Anambra State.
