The Anambra State Head of Service, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno Esq.,mni, on April 29, visited the Ministry of Women Affairs , 29 days after her first visit, warning workers of absenteeism and insurbordination.
She frowned at the lack of respect and insubordination witnessed among the staff against the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, warning that if such is reported again, she would post out all the staff.
She reminded the workers at the ministry of Women Affairs that the ministry is the gateway of the grassroots to the civil service hence, the workers should be puntual and service oriented always.
She said that with the 216 lawyers in the Ministry of Justice that the civil service has enough lawyers for litigation against those flagrantly disobeying the civil service rules and code of service. She raised the issue of administrative query after documentation of absenteeism and other infractions and even legal actions.
Iwouno urged those whose salaries were cut but were sure they were at work to organize themselves with their permanent secretary to visit the Head of Computer for rectification of the deductions.
The civil service boss expressed dismay on the low turn out of workers during her visit, hence, her handicap to present the issue of deductions before the governor as more people abscond from duties despite the deductions, and announced that the clock in for workers attendance won't be only on Mondays but daily.
She had earlier said her meeting with Commissioner for Finance was yeilding positive results even as she observed her visit to the Head of Computer exposed ignorance on the part of workers on filling the forms with their ID numbers as many were blank.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Chinwe Achugbu, and other management of the ministry were in attendance during the interactive session.
Responding on behalf of the Ministry workers, Mrs. Helen Ezeani, Principal Social Welfare Officer, thanked the HOS for her visit and reassured workers won't disrespect the permanent secretary in any way going further even as she apologized to the permanent secretary on behalf of the workers for any shortcomings observed.
The Head of Service was accompanied to the visit by the Permanent Secretary, Ministries of Health, Utility, and Works as well as legal officer and Public Relations Officer of the office of the HOS.
