 So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

 EFCC Arraigns Man for N7.6m Fraud in Maiduguri


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, arraigned one Danladi Mohammed, before Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court, on one count charge of criminal misappropriation to the tune of N7,600,000.00 (Seven Million and Six Hundred Thousand Naira).


The defendant pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.


Counsel for the prosecution, S.O Saka who appeared alongside V.O Ekanem and A.A Ayenshola asked for a date to commence trial.


Justice Fadawu adjourned the case till May 8, 9 and 10, 2023 for the commencement of trial and ordered the remand of the defendant.
