 Mexico City airport undergoes massive World Cup deadline renovation amid ongoing construction chaos  With less than a month until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, passengers arriving at Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport are being met with active construction zones, where drilling equipment, exposed pipes, and unfinished flooring dominate parts of the terminals. Despite the disruption, the airport is also filled with World Cup branding, including posters and large decorative soccer balls and trophies meant to keep the focus on the upcoming tournament. Airport officials say more than 3,000 workers are on site operating up to 20 hours a day as part of an accelerated effort to finish major upgrades. The renovation, launched in May 2025 and valued at roughly $500 million, is one of the largest modernization projects in the airport’s history and is fully funded by the facility itself, which has been overseen by the Mexican Navy since 2023.  Inflation Forces Grinding Machine Operators in Nkpor Market to Hike Service Charges By Uchechukwu Muolokwu  The rising cost of goods and services has reached grinding machine operators in Nkpor Market, with operators citing fuel prices, spare parts, and market levies as reasons for new rates. In an interview, Mr. Moses Ani, a grinding machine operator, said fuel is now the biggest driver of costs.   “We use fuel to run our machines. Without fuel, the machine cannot operate, so we buy fuel daily,” he said.  Ani added that replacement parts for grinding machines have become expensive. “To replace a part costs a huge amount. Some operators cannot afford to fix or maintain their machines. Buying a new one can cost as much as ₦400,000”.  Man drowns while fishing in Xingwedzi River  A 34-year-old man, Mathew Chauke, drowned while fishing at Xingwedzi River in Mtititi Altein on Saturday night. Police say he got into difficulty while attempting to swim across the river after being called by a companion on the opposite side. Witnesses managed to retrieve him from the water and tried to resuscitate him, but he was declared dead by EMS at the scene. Police have opened an inquest case and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution around rivers, especially at night.

 A Florida woman has been arrested for intentionally running over 11 ducklings. She made several trips to make sure she "got them all".  64-year-old, Beverly Sasberry, is being charged with 11 counts of animal cruelty.   These charges stem from an outrageous incident that was at least partially caught on camera.  The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office described what was captured on video. The video showed ducklings lying deceased in the street with the mother and two surviving ducklings running as the Honda drives towards them. According to witnesses, Beverly took several passes, saying the red Honda Accord turned around multiple times as Beverly ran down the ducklings.  Beverly allegedly told officers she had k*lled the ducklings because they made a mess in her yard.  A Missouri Domino's delivery driver is behind bars after hitting a customer with his car because he did not tip him. The incident leading to the arrest of 36-year-old Zachary Walton took place on Wednesday, April 29th. Officers with the Fulton Police Department responded to a private residence after a verbal confrontation turned violent. According to authorities, video footage from the scene of the altercation captured the entire ordeal.  In the video, you can see and hear Zachary becoming agitated after making a delivery to the home and not receiving a tip.  Zachary can be heard calling the victim "f***ing rude" while getting in his vehicle. He then calls the victim a "b***h" before telling the victim to "come get me." Zachary then puts his vehicle in reverse and begins to back out of the driveway.  As he was doing this, the victim began walking towards his vehicle.   A Houston family claims a local man has ruined a 13-year-old boy's life by sharing a "video of the boy going #2" with his classmates.  According to the young boy's family, this troubling incident occurred at the Fuel Depot on Belfort Avenue and has led to excessive bullying.   The family  contends that the child had a restroom emergency situation while walking home from school. They say when the boy went inside of the Fuel Depot and asked to use the restroom, the attendant  refused him access. Due to it being an emergency situation, the child was forced to run behind the building and relieve himself.  Egypt announces new gas discovery in Nile Delta Egypt announced on Saturday a new natural gas discovery in the Nile Delta with estimated production of around 50 million cubic feet per day, adding to the country’s current output of about 4.2 billion cubic feet daily. In a statement, the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry said the discovery was achieved following the successful drilling of the exploratory well “Nidoco N-2” in a concession area operated by the Italian Eni in partnership with the British BP. The ministry said the well was drilled onshore using advanced directional drilling technologies, which helped reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. It added that the proximity of the well to existing infrastructure, less than two kilometres from the nearest production facilities, will allow it to be quickly connected to the network and enter early production within weeks.
