 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.  Guinea-Bissau: Embaló Settles in Morocco After a Stopover in Senegal and Congo The president of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who was overthrown in a military coup, arrived in Morocco on Wednesday after transiting through Senegal and Congo. According to local press reports, Embaló was first flown to Dakar on a special plane sent by Senegal, before traveling to Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, and then arriving in Rabat, the Moroccan capital. It is suggested that Embaló may stay in Rabat for a year during the transition period in Guinea-Bissau, or spend the same amount of time in Portugal.  LASG GIVES FINAL WARNING TO ESTATE DEVELOPMENTS OVER LAYOUT PLAN The Lagos State Government has issued a final warning to estate developments operating in the state without approved layout plans.  The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, who led an on-the-spot warning and sensitisation exercise across parts of the Eti-Osa corridor on Tuesday, said that the final warning was a sequel to the expiration of the grace period earlier granted to all flagged estates to regularise their planning documents. He said that the State Government had repeatedly emphasised the need for all estate promoters to obtain proper approvals before engaging in land subdivision, sales, or construction.  He explained that the affected estates had continued to operate in violation of planning regulations despite earlier notices, while stressing that the government would no longer tolerate developments that compromise orderly and sustainable urban growth.
