 EFCC Arrests Fleeing Ex-Power Minister, Saleh Mamman in Kaduna The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a fleeing former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, in Rigasa area of Kaduna State.  Mamman was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, May 19, 2026 following weeks of intensive surveillance and intelligence gathering by operatives of the Commission. Addressing journalists on the arrest, Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed that the former minister went underground after he was convicted by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on corruption charges. “On May 7, 2026, Justice James Omotosho found Mamman guilty on all 12 counts bordering on diversion of funds meant for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects. EDO POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER IN EWU


The Edo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that on 17th May, 2026, at about 1500hrs, operatives of Police Mobile Force Base 82, Uromi, swiftly stormed a forest along the Ewu–Auchi Road following credible intelligence from a concerned citizen on the suspicious movement of suspected kidnappers within the area.


During the operation, the suspects took to their heels upon sighting the Police and were given a hot chase, leading to the arrest of one Mohammed Zaradeen Saleh ‘m’, aged 18 years, while three others escaped.


Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect belongs to a kidnapping syndicate. He further confessed that two fleeing members of the gang, identified as Musa Shedau and Abdulmumini, are in possession of firearms.


Efforts are on top gear to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover their weapons.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, commends members of the public for their vigilance and urges residents to key into the Community Safety Partnership Initiative by volunteering timely and useful information to the Police, no matter how insignificant it may appear, as such intelligence remains critical in combating crime across Edo State.
