Tiger Woods honored his late father, Earl Dennison Woods, with a heartfelt Memorial Day tribute. Earl, a decorated U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, served two tours in Vietnam before retiring in 1974.
He played a pivotal role in Tiger’s early golf career, coaching him exclusively during his formative years.
In his message, Tiger reflected on his father’s service, writing: “My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service. To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn't have the greatest country on Earth.”
The tribute marked Tiger’s first personal social media post in nearly two months, following his March rollover crash in Jupiter, Florida. The accident led to DUI charges for driving under the influence and property damage.
Shortly afterward, Tiger announced he was stepping away to seek treatment, emphasizing his commitment to prioritizing his health and recovery.
He asked for privacy for his family and loved ones, noting that he hoped to return stronger both personally and professionally.
While Tiger’s legal case continues with preliminary hearings, his girlfriend Vanessa Trump has faced her own health battle. Over Memorial Day weekend, she revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is working closely with her medical team on a treatment plan. S
he expressed gratitude to her doctors and the support of her family, while Tiger quietly showed solidarity by liking her post on Instagram.
Together, the couple is navigating personal challenges while leaning on each other for strength.
