AN INTERSTATE ACCIDENT LED TO 2 MILLION BEES BEING LET LOOSE AND THE INVOLVED DRIVER SUFFERING 100'S OF STINGS.(PHOTO).

An interstate accident led to 2 MILLION bees being let loose and the involved driver suffering 100's of stings.

A semi carrying hundreds of beehives was involved in an accident near Valley City, North Dakota, on the afternoon of Thursday, May 28th.

As the semi hauling the beehives was attempting to merge onto Interstate 94, a vehicle moved into the semi's lane, causing the  driver to swerve hard to avoid a collision.

Unfortunately, the maneuver caused the semi to roll over when it entered the median.

The trailer on the semi had between 600 to 800 beehives on board. Most of the hives were compromised as a result of the accident, which caused the release of millions of agitated bees.

The semi driver was able to escape the wreckage on his own. However, as soon as he exited the cab, he was immediately attacked by the disturbed bees.

The driver suffered hundreds of stings before he was able to save himself by running to the Sheyenne River and jumping in.

Once EMS arrived, the driver was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following the accident, authorities were forced to shut down a portion of Interstate 94 while the bees and beehives were cleaned up and removed. Local beekeepers were enlisted to help with the cleanup.
