  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  Nigeria Experiences First Grid Collapse In 2024


Nigeria is currently witnessing a national blackout as national grid has collapsed.


The grid collapsed at 11:21am on Sunday.


The situation led to shut down of all 20 power plants, except Ibom Power with 31 megawatts.


While confirming the incident the Management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) said the power outage was as a result of a system failure from the national grid “at 11:21 hours today, 4th February 2024 which has led to a nationwide power outage.”


While appealing for patience among its customers, it assured that it is working with the relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon as the grid is stabilized.
