 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE POLICE ARREST SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, DISTURBANCE OF PUBLIC PEACE AND MISCHIEF AT PDP SECRETARIAT, BAUCHI Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command, attached to 'B' Division GRA, have arrested two suspects in connection with criminal conspiracy, disturbance of public peace, and mischief following an attack on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Secretariat in Bauchi. According to a situation report received at the Command, on 24th May 2026 at about 1400 hours, unknown persons stormed the PDP Secretariat office located along Maiduguri Bypass while the party’s governorship primary election was in progress. The intruders disrupted the peace of law-abiding citizens, vandalized the campaign banner of the PDP governorship candidate, and damaged the windscreens of several vehicles parked along the roadside before fleeing on motorcycles.  Bello El-Rufai Secures Kaduna ADC House Of Representatives Ticket Unopposed

Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives, has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Kaduna North Federal Constituency after winning the party’s primary election unopposed.


In a statement released on Saturday, Bello, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, disclosed that he received 7,727 votes during the primary election.


Expressing gratitude to party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters, the lawmaker described his emergence as the ADC flag bearer as a great honour and a reflection of the confidence reposed in him.


“I am deeply honoured and humbled to emerge unopposed as the ADC candidate for Kaduna North Federal Constituency with a total of 7,727 votes. I sincerely appreciate the leadership of the party, delegates, stakeholders, supporters, and the good people of Kaduna North for this overwhelming show of trust," he said. 


Bello noted that he has served the constituency diligently over the past three years and pledged to continue working in the interest of the people.


Addressing his recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the ADC, he maintained that while he was a member of the APC, he neither supported nor funded opposition parties.


“There is still honour in politics, and I hope to reflect that. Now that I am in the ADC, I will proudly campaign for our party and continue to stand by its ideals. We fear no one,” he said. 


Bello El-Rufai was elected to represent Kaduna North Federal Constituency on the APC platform in the 2023 general election.
