Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive. A MYRTLE BEACH OFFICER IS FACING CHARGES AFTER HE PULLED HIS GUN ON A FELLOW OFFICER FOR MICROWAVING FISH AT THE POLICE STATION. (PHOTO).

A Myrtle Beach officer is facing charges after he pulled his gun on a fellow officer for microwaving fish at the police station.

If this story smells fishy to you, then you are not alone. Many people are arguing which offense was the worst.

However, the Myrtle Beach Police Department has made up their mind. They have concluded that Detective Michael Debiase (pictured below) was out of line with his actions after becoming incensed with a fellow officer over his choice for lunch.

According to official reports, Detective Debiase drew his department issued weapon while in the briefing room and pointed it at a co-worker for using the communal microwave to heat up fish.

Detective Debiase was placed on administrative leave immediately following the incident. An investigation was launched into the incident and a warrant was ultimately issued for the arrest of Michael Debiase.  Myrtle Beach Police Department also confirmed they have terminated Michael Debiase from the force.

He was taken into custody on June 2nd and booked into J. Rueben Long Detention Center.

However, Debiase was released after several hours without having a bond set.

Michael Debiase is due in court on August 14th.

Under South Carolina Law, pointing a firearm at another person is a felony charge. It could carry up to a five year prison sentence or as little as a fine determined by the court.

Be careful while handling firearms.... and fish.
