Movie nights in Zoe Saldaña and Marco Perego's household come with a unique twist.
Rather than limiting their children to modern blockbusters, the couple have made classic cinema a regular part of family life, introducing their three sons to some of the most celebrated films ever made.
Perego recently revealed that their boys, twins Cy and Bowie, 11, and 9-year-old Zen, have already been exposed to a number of iconic movies that shaped generations of filmmakers.
One recent favorite was The Apartment, the acclaimed Billy Wilder classic.
"We just showed it to our boys, and they love it," Perego said.
The family has also screened Cinema Paradiso, a film that holds special meaning for Perego, who grew up in Italy surrounded by a deep appreciation for cinema.
According to him, movie watching has become a cherished family routine. Beyond entertainment, it offers an opportunity to see how their children connect with stories from different generations.
The family has also been exploring the work of legendary director Alfred Hitchcock, including To Catch a Thief starring Grace Kelly.
For Perego, whose childhood was filled with films from celebrated directors such as Federico Fellini, Andrei Tarkovsky and Stanley Kubrick, sharing that passion with his children feels natural.
While many families bond over sports or video games, the Saldaña-Perego household is creating memories through stories projected on a screen, one classic film at a time.
