The visit, announced by both countries, is scheduled as a two-day state trip beginning Monday. It comes as China seeks to reinforce its strategic influence in the region while North Korea continues expanding its relationships with other partners, including Russia. In recent years, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has deepened cooperation with Moscow, including sending troops and military equipment to support Russia’s war in Ukraine.
