Kaduna-based Ikon Allah Football Academy has celebrated a landmark achievement following the transfer of its former player, Zadok Yohanna, to English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Brighton confirmed on Saturday that the highly rated Nigerian winger has agreed a five-year contract with the club after an impressive breakthrough season with Swedish side AIK Stockholm.
The move is expected to be completed when the summer transfer window officially opens.
Yohanna's rise has been nothing short of remarkable. Less than two years after leaving Kaduna for Europe, the 18-year-old has attracted attention from several top clubs across the continent before ultimately choosing Brighton, a club renowned for developing young talents.
The winger began his football journey at Ikon Allah Football Academy, where coaches and teammates witnessed first-hand the dedication, discipline, and talent that would eventually propel him onto the international stage.
For Ikon Allah Football Academy, Yohanna's transfer represents more than an individual success story. It serves as further evidence of the quality of football talent emerging from Kaduna and the growing impact of grassroots player development in Northern Nigeria.
Speaking on the milestone, the academy expressed pride in Yohanna's achievements and confidence in his ability to excel in the Premier League.
Yohanna joins Brighton after making a strong impression in Sweden, where his performances for AIK established him as one of the most exciting young prospects in European football. His move to England marks another significant chapter in a journey that began on the football fields of Kaduna.
