A MAN WANTED FOR HOMICIDE ENDED HIS LIFE WHEN POLICE CHASE LEADS TO CRASH WITH 1-YEAR OLD SON IN HIS CAR. (PHOTO).

A Washington man wanted for homicide ended his life when police chase leads to crash with 1-year-old son in his car.

40-year-old Elias Huizar led police on a high speed chase on April 23rd. Police had been searching for his vehicle in connection with a shooting in front of William Wiley Elementary School on April 22nd. It is believed the female victim who was shot at the elementary school, and subsequently died; was Huizar's ex-wife.

It was not long after this incident that Washington State Patrol issued an Amber Alert for 1-year-old Mason Santos.

On April  23rd Oregan State Patrol located Huizar's vehicle on I-5 near Eugene, Oregon and initiated a pursuit. Huizar ultimately crashed into a vehicle stopped on the interstate due to another accident. When officers entered Huizar's vehicle he was deceased from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

In a miracle silver lining to an otherwise tragic story, little Mason was completely unharmed and is in protective custody.

Sadly, a search warrant on Huizar's home revealed another homicide victim who police have identified as an associate of Huizar. However it has been hinted the second victim was his present 17-year-old girlfriend. There are allegations he was involved with other minors.

Elias Huizar was a former well known Yakima, Washington police officer.
