 NSIB RECOVERS BLACK BOXES IN DELTA AIRCRAFT ROADWAY LANDING PROBE The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, says it has recovered both the Cockpit Voice Recorder CVT and Flight Data Recorder FDR from the Bombardier Challenger aircraft, operated by VMO Aero Limited. According to the The Bureau  the black boxes have now been secured for detailed analysis. Investigators are also collecting operational, maintenance, and air traffic control records. NSIB Director General, Captain Alex Badeh  emphasised that the  recovery of the recorders is critical to establishing the facts of the incident. Lebowakgomo husband sentenced to life imprisonment for orchestrating wife’s murder The Polokwane High Court has sentenced 59-year-old Molabe Fannie Seribishane to life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of his wife, Mamsy Seribishane. Mamsy Seribishane, a nurse at Lebowakgomo Hospital, was shot and killed on 22 October 2024 while arriving for duty near the hospital gate. Investigations later linked her husband to the murder. Police revealed that the couple was in the process of divorce and that a protection order had previously been granted against the accused. The accused was arrested in November 2024 after going into hiding. Police recovered a 9mm pistol in his possession, which ballistic analysis later confirmed was used in the murder. The court heard that the accused planned and executed the killing despite denying involvement throughout the trial.  Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo has sentenced a 50-year-old man, Ime Edet Akpan, to 21 years imprisonment for raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl. Akpan was convicted and sentenced on Thursday, June 11, 2026.  Journalist and judiciary reporter, Harrison Essien, who disclosed this on Facebook said the convict, a married father of five, committed the act in his side chick's compound in Nung Udoe, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of the sate. According to the journalist, Akpan, a keke operator from Akamba Nsukara Offot in Uyo Local Government Area of the State, went to visit his side chick and met her absence and decided to pounce on the minor while she was bathing. “I held her and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and there was nobody in the compound, now that she is pregnant, I will take care of her until she put to birth," the convict said in court.

 China's Hengli seeks West African, Middle Eastern oil after sanctions, sources say China's Hengli ​Petrochemical, sanctioned by the U.S. for allegedly purchasing Iranian oil, has bought at least 2 million barrels of ‌West African crude and is seeking further mainstream supply, several trade sources said, as the refiner looks to get off the U.S. blacklist. Hengli, which was penalised by Washington in April and has denied buying Iranian oil, is looking to source entirely non-sanctioned oil, six of the people said, Reuters reported. Privately owned Hengli, which ​operates a 400,000 barrels-per-day refinery in the northeastern city of Dalian, has recently inquired about buying cargoes of West African ​and non-Iranian Middle Eastern crude for delivery from June onward, multiple sources said. It bought at least 2 ⁠million barrels of West African crude for China delivery around late June or July, three of the sources said.
