The Lagos State Government has commended the latest batch of Jerusalem pilgrims for their good conduct and encouraged them to serve as ambassadors for the state and country. This commendation was given by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Very Reverend Adebukola Adeleke, during a colourful ceremony held recently at Tabar Hotel, Nazareth for the Pilgrims.
He praised the pilgrims for their exemplary behaviour and urged them to share their positive experiences with others, promoting the state's pilgrimage services, noting that Lagos State pilgrims have consistently demonstrated exceptional conduct, making them a model for others to follow.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Adewunni Gbolahan and other dignitaries, including the representative of the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. Bolanle Oshin echoed similar sentiments, encouraging the pilgrims to be good ambassadors for Lagos, Nigeria, and Christ.
The Board Secretary, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, admonished the pilgrims, who were later conferred with the title of Jerusalem Pilgrims (JP), to express their joy and appreciation to the government by sharing their experiences with others, promoting the state's pilgrimage services and spreading the message of God's goodness.
Meanwhile, the JP commenced their spiritual journey with a serene boat cruise on the Sea of Galilee, filled with praises, sermons, and prayers. Other iconic sites visited the same day include Mount Tabor, where the Transfiguration of Jesus took place, the Mount of Beatitudes, and Capernaum, the City of Jesus, where pilgrims prayed for divine healing.
