 Every year, my birthday comes with a photoshoot, glam, and a carefully planned concept. This year, none of that felt quite right. Instead, I’m sharing a photo from the day my son was born. The day my life changed forever.🥰🙏🏾 Because as special as every birthday has been, this one feels different.  International Widows Day 2026: First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges Nigerians To Do Away With Dehumanising Traditional Practices


First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu wants Nigerians to reaffirm support for widows across the country, Africa, and the world, urging them to do away with harmful traditional practices that are dehumanising to widows.


In her message marking this year’s International Widow's Day with the theme “Justice, Dignity and Economic Power for Widows The African Perspectives.


The First Lady says widows deserve to live free from discrimination, harmful practices, poverty, and exclusion.


Harping on the need to protect widows with laws that uphold their human rights,  empower them through education, access to opportunities, and economic support to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope, she also urges members of the society to promote compassion, inclusion and policies that protect widows for a safer and more prosperous society.
