The approved funding includes ₦170.1 billion for 2025 and ₦233 billion for 2026, covering personnel costs, capital projects, and overhead expenses aimed at improving the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force. Lawmakers say the funds will support the provision of critical equipment, infrastructure, training, and other resources needed to enhance security across the country. Ireland has deported 42 South African nationals, comprising 9 men, 18 women, and 15 children in family units, on a charter flight from Dublin to Johannesburg.  The Irish authorities cited that two of the deportees had prior convictions in Ireland. This operation marks Ireland's fourth deportation charter flight of 2026. According to the Department of Justice, 130 individuals have been removed from the country this year due to grounds related to criminality.

 A Missouri man launched an attack on his ex and her new boyfriend using a homemade flame thrower.  The unorthodox and unsettling attack occurred on June 13th at a home on Old County Road in Franklin County, Missouri.  On that evening, deputies were called to the home after Christopher Viehland entered a home occupied by his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend. Christopher was wielding a modified fire extinguisher that was filled with gasoline. The would-be weapon had the word "flame thrower" hand written on it. There is no evidence that the device was ever functional as a flame thrower.  Christopher did use it to douse his ex-girlfriend with gasoline. However, a scuffle between Christopher and her current boyfriend ensued. During the fight, Christopher struck the victim in the head with a flashlight, causing a laceration to his head.
