INITIAL REPORTS:
Human Rights Group, Eagle Brain, Demands Release Of Kaduna Influencer Mycah Dangata
A human rights advocacy group, Eagle Brain Human Right Organization, has called for the immediate release of Kaduna-based musician and social media influencer, Zamani Musa, popularly known as Mycah Dangata or Take Over Kaduna, following reports of his arrest by security operatives.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the organization said it had been closely monitoring developments surrounding the arrest, which reportedly took place on Tuesday.
According to the group, authorities have yet to disclose the reason for Musa's detention, a situation it described as a violation of his constitutional rights to due process and presumption of innocence as guaranteed under Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The organization expressed concern that the lack of official information regarding the arrest is creating anxiety among the influencer's supporters and members of the public.
"Freedom of expression and civic engagement must not be criminalized," the statement read.
The group demanded that security agencies immediately disclose the reason for Musa's arrest and grant him access to legal representation and family members. It further called for his unconditional release if no lawful charges have been filed against him.
Eagle Brain Human Right Organization warned that it would not remain silent while citizens are allegedly detained without communication, threatening to mobilize a peaceful mass protest across Kaduna State if its demands are not met within 24 hours.
The organization also urged members of the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and vigilant while efforts to ensure accountability continue.
The statement was signed by Comrade Markus Solomon, Public Relations Officer of Eagle Brain Human Right Organization, Kaduna State Chapter.
